Living Midlands: Spotlight on Our Innovative Timber Research

Peter Markos, the director of our practice, was recently interviewed by Sharon Martin from Midlands Living about the practice's design for sustainable timber-framed eco-homes.

Eco-friendly home designs in timber are becoming increasingly popular due to their sustainability and energy efficiency. Timber is a renewable resource that can be sourced from responsibly managed forests, making it a more environmentally friendly building material compared to traditional materials like concrete or steel. Timber homes also have a smaller carbon footprint, as they require less energy to produce and are more efficient in terms of insulation and energy usage. Additionally, timber homes can be designed with features like passive solar heating, natural ventilation, and green roofs to reduce their environmental impact further.
